National News: Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi on Monday launched a scathing attack on the central government and especially Home Minister Amit Shah over the Pahalgam terror attack during the ongoing debate in the Lok Sabha. He said that the Home Minister should take moral responsibility for this horrific attack, and he cannot hide behind the Governor for this. According to media reports, during the debate on Operation Sindoor in the Lok Sabha, Gogoi said that the Home Minister will have to take moral responsibility. It cannot be said that this is the responsibility of the governor. He said that the country wants answers as to how these terrorists entered the country and why they have not been caught till now.
Gaurav Gogoi said that 100 days have passed since the Pahalgam attack, but the five terrorists involved in the attack have not been arrested yet. He said that you have drones, Pegasus, and satellites, yet you could not catch the five terrorists. Raising questions on the central government, Gogoi said, How did the terrorists infiltrate? What was their target? And how did they reach Besaran Valley despite so much security?, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh did not give any clear answer to all these questions.
He said that the country is waiting for the answer as to where the terrorists who killed 26 innocent people are and why the government has been silent till now. The opposition also alleged that the government is trying to hide the whole matter under the guise of the success of Operation Sindoor. Gogoi's sharp questions increased the tension in the House, and the opposition MPs also intensified the demand for accountability from the government.
Gaurav Gogoi's statement has come at a time when the government is presenting the success of Operation Sindoor, in which nine terrorist hideouts were destroyed and more than a hundred terrorists were killed, but Gogoi's emphasis was on why the terrorists who attacked have not been caught yet. This debate has raised new questions on the failures of the internal security and intelligence system, which is likely to lead to more fierce political debate in the coming days.
