Parliament Budget Session: We focus on ‘santushtikaran’ not ‘tushtikaran’ says PM Modi

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is responding to the motion in the Lok Sabha. He said his government spend crores for the poor to build toilets and houses in the last 10 years. 

PM: Opposition is making false promises with the people: PM said there are a few parties which try to mislead the youth of the country, they make false promises during the time of elections.

PM: We don't do politics of poison: PM hits out at people who try to divide the country, saythat his government does not indulge in the "politics of poison."

PM on Triple Talaq: We removed 'Triple Talaq and worked for the welfare of the women of our country. Now the women can live without the fear of this stigma.

PM on Tax exemption: In the last 10 years, we have enhanced the savings of the middle class by reducing income tax limit. In the 2002 financial year, tax exemption was only applicable for income up to ₹2 lakh.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a jibe at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his "boring" remark on President Droupadi Murmu's joint address to Parliament last month.

Taking a jibe at former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, he said There was fashion to call one PM as 'Mr Clean', but he admitted that if Re 1 is sent from Delhi, people got only 15 paise. He also said 

his government removed 10 crore fake people who were enjoying government scheme benefits. He said real beneficiaries were found and help was provided to them.

Our model is savings as well as development. Public money is for the public. During our tenure, we deposited 40 lakh crore rupees in the public's account. This is the misfortune of the country, see how governments were run in the country," he said in the Lok Sabha.

PM: LED bulbs sold at Rs 400, came down to Rs 40

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said LED bulbs were earlier sold at Rs 400 before his government came to power in 2014. He also said that prices had now come down to Rs 40 after conducting awareness drives.

PM: We fulfilled promises, never gave false hopes to poor

Prime Minister Narendra Modi slammed the Congress over the 'Garibi Hatao' slogan and said his government gave real development to the poor and did not resort to false slogans for them.
