National News:A major road accident took place in Daniyawan, Patna district, on Saturday morning, leaving eight people dead and six others badly injured. The victims were traveling in an auto-rickshaw to attend a holy dip in the Ganga at Fatuha when a high-speed truck crashed into them.

Accident Details

The group of devotees had set out from Malama village in Hilsa. On the way, a truck coming at high speed hit their auto-rickshaw with such force that the small vehicle was torn apart. The scene turned tragic as bodies lay scattered, and cries for help filled the air.

Local residents rushed to the spot and immediately called the police. The injured were taken to the nearest hospital, but due to their serious condition, they were later shifted to Patna for better medical care.

Truck Driver on the Run

Police reported that the truck driver escaped from the site after the accident, abandoning the vehicle. Search operations have started to trace him, and strict action has been assured once he is caught.

Families of the victims were left devastated as the news spread across the villages. Locals described the accident as one of the most horrifying road mishaps in recent times.

Police and Public Response

Police officials from Daniyawan said that an investigation is underway and the truck has been identified. They also confirmed that charges will be filed for reckless and dangerous driving.

Meanwhile, villagers have demanded stricter monitoring of highways, pointing out that speeding trucks are a constant danger in the area. Many said that accidents on this route have become common, and Saturday’s incident is yet another reminder of the lack of road safety.
