PM Modi Conferred With the Order of Oman, Joins Nelson Mandela, Queen Elizabeth (X)
New Delhi: Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said conferred the Order of Oman upon Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It is to be noted here that India and Oman signed the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) in the presence of PM Modi and Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said in Oman.
Notably, the Comprehensive Trade Agreement unlocks export opportunity for India’s Labour-Intensive Sectors including textiles, leather, footwear, gems & jewellery, engineering products, plastics, furniture, agricultural products, pharmaceuticals, medical devices and automobiles generating employment and empowering artisans, women-led enterprises and MSMEs. This is the 2nd Free Trade Agreement signed in the last 6 months after United Kingdom, as per the Ministry of Commerce & Industry.
Congratulating PM Modi, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath posted on X, "Under the visionary leadership of Hon PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji, Bharat’s diplomacy is guided by trust, tradition and a forward-looking global vision. Congratulations to Hon. Modi Ji on the conferment of 'The First Class of the Order of Oman,' The Sultanate of Oman’s highest civilian award, recognising his exemplary contributions to strengthening bilateral ties between India and Oman.''
''This honour is a powerful affirmation of the enduring friendship, shared values and strategic depth of India–Oman relations. It is further strengthened by the signing of the India–Oman Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), reflecting Bharat’s growing economic leadership under Hon. PM Shri Modi Ji," he wrote.

Meanwhile, PM Narendra Modi wrote, "We discussed how cultural and people-to-people linkages can be enhanced. This includes student exchange programmes and other such ways to ensure our youth connect regularly."
During the event, PM Modi added, ''Seeing so many students was truly wonderful. The presence of the Indian diaspora from different parts of India made it even more special. Our diaspora carries diverse traditions yet they are united by a shared sense of belonging. They are very passionate to see India-Oman ties grow.''
