In a significant announcement ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections in 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a promise to empower women in Delhi. Addressing a public rally in the capital, Modi declared that if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) forms the government on February 8, women in Delhi will begin receiving ₹2,500 directly in their bank accounts starting March 8, coinciding with International Women's Day.

PM Modi's bold promise

The Prime Minister expressed confidence in the BJP’s victory, stating, "Mark this date, February 8 – the day BJP will form the government in Delhi. And just a month later, on March 8, women will begin receiving ₹2,500 in their bank accounts." Modi praised women for being a protective shield for the country and credited them for securing the BJP’s third term in the center.

Criticism of AAP government and Kejriwal

Continuing his address, Modi criticized the Delhi government under Arvind Kejriwal, calling it a failed administration. He pointed out the toll Delhi residents have paid under the leadership of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and stressed that people had now decided to move away from the party. Modi also mocked Kejriwal, claiming that leaders who live in lavish mansions are out of touch with the common man, particularly those living in slums or small apartments.

Accusations of corruption and mismanagement

Modi accused the AAP government of indulging in corruption across various sectors, including healthcare, and claimed that many AAP leaders who were denied tickets for the upcoming elections realized the widespread anger among the people. The Prime Minister further stated that the party's desperation was evident in the daily false promises it was making as election day approached.

Modi also lashed out at AAP's policies for allegedly causing factory closures and said that those responsible for the corruption would be held accountable. The BJP leader assured the public that a change was imminent and urged Delhi's residents to take a stand for a cleaner and more accountable government.
