National News: Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, and Uttar Pradesh on a very important two-day visit on 29 and 30 May. This visit not only gave the gift of new development projects to these states but also reflects the strategic direction and speed of the central government in the election year.
PM Modi started his visit from Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim. Here he participated in the Golden Jubilee celebrations organized on the completion of 50 years of the formation of the state. In this ceremony, the Prime Minister underlined the cultural heritage, natural resources, and strategic importance of Sikkim and called the state the "Jewel of the Northeast."
After this, Modi reached Alipurduar in West Bengal. Here he laid the foundation stone of the City Gas Distribution (CGD) project costing ₹ 1010 crore in Cooch Behar and Alipurduar districts. Under this scheme, piped natural gas (PNG) will be supplied to 2.5 lakh homes and more than 100 industrial establishments. Also, about 19 new CNG stations will be established, which will give a big boost to Bengal in the direction of green energy.
The Prime Minister will reach Patna on the evening of 29 May, where he will inaugurate the new terminal of Patna Airport and lay the foundation stone of Bihta Airport. After this, he will do a road show of about 4 km in the capital. This roadshow is also considered a big opportunity for the BJP to know the mood of the people in Bihar before the Lok Sabha elections.
On May 30, PM Modi will go to Bikramganj in Rohtas district, where he will lay the foundation stone of the second unit of the Navinagar Super Thermal Power Project. This unit will generate 1500 MW of electricity. Along with this, Bihar will be gifted a total of more than 60 projects worth ₹50,000 crores, which includes works related to water, electricity, roads, and education.
In the last leg of his tour, PM Modi will reach Kanpur. In a grand gathering organized at CSA University ground here, he will participate in the program based on the theme "Operation Sindoor" and will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of 15 projects worth Rs 47,664 crore for UP. These include Kanpur Metro, Neyveli, Obra, Khurja, and Jawaharpur power plants.
This visit of Prime Minister Modi is not just an inauguration ceremony but also a strong political message that "Development is our agenda, not an election gimmick." With projects worth 1.5 lakh crores, this visit has become a witness to the changing picture of the country.
