PM Modi Speaks to Injured Indian Pilot Who Saved Flydubai Flight, Hails His Courage and Bravery (OpenAi)
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday spoke to injured Indian Flydubai pilot Smit Machchhar over phone. Praising the pilot's courage in handling the plane and protecting the passengers during the alleged attack in the cockpit, PM Modi wished him a speedy recovery. During the conversation, Captain Smit Machchhar became emotional and described talking to the Prime Minister as a very special moment for him.
During the phone conversation, Captain Smit Machchhar told Prime Minister Modi that he was his biggest idol. He told that he never expected that he would get a chance to talk directly to the Prime Minister. He described the conversation with PM Modi as a moment of pride and honor for him.
Praising the bravery of Smit Machchhar, the Prime Minister said that the entire country is praying for his speedy recovery. During the conversation, PM Modi also mentioned the courage of Indians in the context of this incident. He said that the people of India are not going to take the lives of others, but if necessary, they are going to risk their lives to save the lives of others.
In the conversation, the Prime Minister also mentioned Geeta Ben, mother of Smit Machchhar. He said that his mother instilled in him such values and values which were reflected in his decisions in difficult times. PM Modi also linked his upbringing to the teachings of Bhagavad Gita.
Smit Machchhar told the Prime Minister that whenever he is in a difficult situation, he recites Hanuman Chalisa. He said that even during the attack on the plane, he was chanting Hanuman Chalisa. According to him, this lesson helped him remain mentally strong at that time.
According to the report, the pilot of the Flydubai flight going from Dubai to Tel Aviv was allegedly attacked with a knife by his co-pilot. Despite being seriously injured, Smit Machchhar opened the cockpit door and called for help. The plane was then landed in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, where the pilot was given initial medical aid.
After the attack, Smit Machchhar was admitted to the hospital in Tabuk for initial treatment. He was later flown to Abu Dhabi for further treatment and recovery. Medical monitoring of his condition is ongoing. The role of the co-pilot in this incident and the entire matter is being investigated by the concerned authorities.
