Gujarat: Today the country paid tribute to its “Iron Man,” Sardar Patel, in Kevadiya, Gujarat. Narendra Modi honored her by visiting the Statue of Unity, after which a unity parade, flag march, women-led march-past, cultural programs, and a special air show were organized.

Why was this event special?

PM Modi said that Sardar Patel was one of those leaders who made public service the goal of his life and believed in the unity and integrity of India. He also said that Patel's thinking is as relevant today as it was when he played an active role in the building of the country.

What happened in the program?

The meetings started at Kevadiya, where students took part in the parade. This time the march-past was led by women officers. Along with police, CAPF, NCC, and band units, cavalry, camel units, and dog units also participated. Unarmed combat demonstrations, martial arts, tricks on motorcycles, and NCC demonstrations also attracted the attention of the audience in the program.

Many tableaux depicted the diversity of India, conveying the message that public service, discipline, and unity are not just words but qualities that can be felt in practice.

At the conclusion of the program, the Indian Air Force presented a spectacular air show, which became a symbol of “power and unity.” Immediately after this, the Prime Minister addressed the nation and again put forward the direction of a united India propounded by Sadar Patel.

What will happen next?

The message of today's grand event was to make the country united, self-reliant, and strong. PM Modi appealed to the countrymen to adopt the spirit of service and patriotism of Sardar Patel. President Draupadi Murmu also paid tribute to Sardar Patel through social media and said that everyone can learn from his work, life, and service to the nation.

The event was not just a celebration but a reminder that there is strength in India's unity and diversity—and it is the responsibility of all of us to take it forward.
