Prime Minister Modi in Tamil Nadu, Big Push with Rs 7,000 Crore Infrastructure Package (x)
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a one-day visit to Tamil Nadu and Puducherry today, Sunday, March 1. During this period, he will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate development projects worth more than Rs 7,100 crore. These projects relate to infrastructure, health, and education, which are of great importance to these areas.
The PM will reach Puducherry at around 11:45 am. There we will lay the foundation stone of projects worth Rs 2700 crore and will also dedicate some of them to the country. Local people are very excited because these projects are going to make everyday life easier.
PM Modi will be in Madurai around 3 pm. Works worth Rs 4400 crore will start here. These include widening of the National Highway and revamping of eight railway stations in Tamil Nadu. Stations will now become more beautiful, clean and comfortable for passengers.
At 4 pm, PM will visit the Sri Subramaniam Swamy temple of Tirupparankundram and offer prayers. This visit is also special because some time ago a case was filed in the court regarding lighting of lamps on the hill here. Madras High Court gave its decision in favor of the devotees, with which everyone became happy. The PM's visit will be an emotional moment for the people of Tirupparankundram.
PM will address a big rally of NDA in Madurai. BJP and Hindu Munnani have announced Girivalam (circumambulation) on Monday, March 2 – for devotees to gather to commemorate the PM's visit. There are strict security arrangements. The entire tour, along with showing development in Tamil Nadu, also holds great significance for the politics of the coming days. BJP is trying its best to strengthen its ground in the area.
