Prime minister Modi motivates new civil servants to embrace 'Jan Bhagidari' for better governance

The Prime Minister launched new tourism and attraction centres along with projects that support tourism development. These projects will elevate the global reputation of the Statue of Unity area and provide world-class facilities for visitors at Ekta Nagar.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday held extensive discussions with young civil servants on improving governance with the spirit of 'Jan Bhagidari' (people's participation) and urged them to improve 'Ease of Living' for citizens.

PM Modi said this while addressing the Officer Trainees of the 99th Common Foundation Course, named Aarambh 6.0', at Ekta Nagar near the iconic Statue of Unity in Gujarat's Narmada district on the first day of his state visit. The theme for this year's programme is 'Roadmap for Atma Nirbhar and Viksit Bharat.' The 99th Common Foundation Course included 653 Officer Trainees from across 16 civil services of India and three civil services of Bhutan.

In a post on X, the Prime Minister said that he has urged the young civil servants to improve 'Ease of Living' for citizens.
"Interacted with young civil servants during Aarambh 6.0. We had extensive discussions on how to improve governance with the spirit of Jan Bhagidari. Also highlighted the importance of having strong feedback mechanisms and improving grievance redressal systems. Urged the young civil servants to improve 'Ease of Living' for citizens," PM Modi posted on X.

Prime Minister Modi is on a two-day visit to Gujarat on Wednesday and Thursday. On the eve of Diwali and the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India, the Prime Minister boosted development in Gujarat's Ekta Nagar by unveiling projects worth over Rs 284 crore. These projects aim to enhance the tourist experience, improve accessibility and support sustainability initiatives in the area.

On Thursday, the Prime Minister will participate in the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrations and offer floral tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

He will administer the Ekta Diwas pledge and witness Ekta Diwas Parade which will comprise of 16 marching contingents from nine states and one UT, four Central Armed Police Forces, NCC and a marching band. Special attractions include Hell March contingent of NSG, daredevil show by BSF and CRPF women and men bikers, a show on combination of Indian Martial Arts by BSF, piped band show by school children and 'Surya Kiran' flypast by Indian Air Force.
