She underscored her dedication to tackling youth unemployment and thanked the people for standing by Rahul during difficult times. Both siblings appealed to voters to embrace positive change, with Rahul sharing personal anecdotes that highlighted Priyanka’s compassion and resilience.

Priyanka Gandhi: A message of gratitude and commitment

In her address, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, representing the United Democratic Front (UDF), praised Wayanad for its beauty, history, and the warmth of its people. She expressed deep appreciation for the way the community rallied behind Rahul during his challenges, especially during criticism from the ruling BJP. "The people of Wayanad have always supported my brother’s fight for truth," she said, acknowledging their role in strengthening his resolve.

Major focus on youth unemployment

Priyanka also turned the conversation toward national issues, specifically the urgent need for job creation. She criticized the central government for its lack of action on employment, especially for young people. "This government has had ten years to address the unemployment crisis, yet they have done nothing for the youth," she emphasized, urging voters to consider the future of the next generation.

Rahul Gandhi makes a personal appeal to Wayanad

Rahul Gandhi shared his pride in campaigning for his sister, marking her first electoral bid. He noted that while Priyanka had previously supported him in his campaigns, she was now stepping up for her own candidacy. “I can either give a political speech or talk to you like family,” he said. “I am lucky to have her as my sister, and now you are lucky too because she will be like your mother, sister, and daughter.”

He then recounted a lighthearted memory from their childhood, mentioning a photography competition organized by their father. While he focused on photographing family members, Priyanka chose to capture images of dogs. Although she didn’t win, her passion for photography remained strong. “Today, I can proudly say she’s become a better photographer than me,” Rahul said with a smile.
