Punjab News: Punjab Police has arrested and brought back a wanted terrorist, Parminder Singh alias Pindi, from Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE) to India. Pindi, a member of the Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) group and resident of Harsha in Batala, is linked to serious crimes such as petrol bomb attacks, violent assaults, and extortion in the Batala-Gurdaspur area. The operation was carried out with the help of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and other central agencies.
He further shared that acting quickly on a Red Corner Notice (RCN) requested by Batala Police, a special four-member team led by a senior police officer went to the UAE on September 24, 2025. The team worked with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and UAE authorities, finished all legal steps and successfully brought Pindi back to India to face the law. This extradition highlights Punjab Police’s strong stand against terrorism and organised crime, as well as its modern investigation skills and global reach, said the DGP. He also thanked the MEA, the Government of the UAE, CBI and other central agencies for their important support in this combined effort to ensure justice and strengthen national security.
Giving more details, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Batala Suhail Qasim Mir said that because of the seriousness of Pindi’s crimes and his direct links with Pakistan-based terrorists Harwinder Rinda and Happy Passia, the CBI issued a Red Corner Notice (RCN) against him through INTERPOL on the request of Batala Police. This global alert was key in tracking his movements and finding his location in Abu Dhabi, he added. The SSP said that with the arrest of Parminder Pindi, Punjab Police has broken an important part of an international terror network. This operation gives a clear and strong message that the reach of the law has no borders, he added.Meanwhile, the CBI, acting as the National Central Bureau for INTERPOL in India, works with all law enforcement agencies in the country through BHARATPOL.
