On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin over the phone. During the call, Modi emphasised that the Ukraine conflict should be solved peacefully and reaffirmed India’s long-standing support for peace. Putin, in turn, shared details of his recent meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump in Alaska. After the conversation, PM Modi thanked Putin on X for the update and expressed hope for continued discussions in the coming days.

Putin to meet Trump

It is reported that on August 15, a discussion took place between President Putin and Donald Trump in Alaska on various issues, including the Ukraine war. However, no decisive decision regarding the war came out of this discussion. On the other hand, on Monday night (Indian time), a conversation is scheduled between Trump and Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky.
