New Delhi: When Russian President Vladimir Putin's plane landed in Delhi on Thursday evening, the eyes of the whole world were fixed on it. According to FlightRadar24, on Friday his plane became the most tracked flight in the world. Putin has come to India for the 23rd India-Russia summit and was welcomed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself at Palam Air Base. Both the leaders smiled and hugged each other and then got out of the same car. This clearly showed the importance of the journey.

Why were people around the world watching Putin's flight?

FlightRadar24 wrote on X that their most tracked plane was the one in which Putin was coming to India. The screenshot he posted showed that 1,772 people were viewing the location of that flight at the same time. From this it can be estimated how much global interest there is regarding Putin's visit to India.

First meeting of Modi and Putin

After leaving the airport, both the leaders went straight to Lok Kalyan Marg, where Prime Minister Modi had organized a private dinner for Putin. For Putin, who came to India after four years, this first stop was not only formal but also quite friendly.

Friday's big meeting

Both the leaders will meet at Hyderabad House on Friday. This meeting is the main part of the 23rd India-Russia Annual Summit. Issues like defense cooperation, the energy sector, and furthering trade will be at the center of discussion.

Putin also made an interesting comment on Thursday. He said that if America has the right to buy fuel from Russia, then India should also get the same right. This statement gives a glimpse of India-Russia relations.

Security and traffic system in the capital

Delhi Police has issued a special traffic advisory for Friday. There will be limited movement on many routes from 9 am to 12 noon; hence, passengers have been advised to adopt alternative routes.

When did the two leaders last meet?

Putin came to India in 2021. After this, Prime Minister Modi went to Moscow last year. Both have once again met briefly at the SCO conference held in China. Therefore, this time's Delhi meeting is being seen as 'direct and in-depth talks.'
