New Delhi: A massive explosion at the LNG plant in Ras Laffan, Qatar took away the happiness of 12 Indian families. After this accident, on Tuesday, Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani himself called Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He expressed deep sorrow over the accident. PM Modi also thanked him by posting on X.
The PM wrote, "Received a call from the Emir of Qatar. He expressed condolences on the death of Indians in the tragic accident at Ras Laffan Industrial City. I am grateful to him." Modi said that in the conversation, both leaders expressed sorrow for those who died.

PM Modi wrote, "We understand the pain of the families who have lost their loved ones. We are with them." He also prayed for the injured, "May God heal those who are injured quickly." These words are like a balm for those homes where now there is only silence.
PM Modi bluntly said that India and Qatar are united regarding the security of their people. He wrote, "India and Qatar are fully prepared to protect the safety and well-being of our citizens. We will stand with each other in every situation." More than 80 lakh Indians live in the Gulf countries, so this trust was necessary.
The explosion occurred at the Ras Laffan LNG Complex in Qatar. The Indian Embassy said on Monday that 13 people lost their lives in this accident, of which 12 were Indians. The lamps of 12 houses were extinguished in a single stroke.
So strong that the ground shook from Ras Laffan to Doha, 70 kilometers away. The windows of people's houses started rattling. There was chaos on the streets. Many people thought that an earthquake had occurred. Such a major industrial accident has never happened before in Qatar.
According to Qatari officials, 66 people were injured. It is a matter of relief that no one is hanging between life and death. All are out of danger and are undergoing treatment in the hospital.
Qatar's Energy Minister Saad Al-Kaabi himself made it clear that this was not an attack. He said, "It was an accident. There is no conspiracy or enmity in it." He also gave the reason. This LNG plant was closed from December 2025. Maintenance work was going on. It was restarted only two days before the accident.
At present, the government of Qatar is investigating the accident to find out where the mistake occurred. On the other hand, the Indian Embassy in Doha is busy helping the families of the victims. There are preparations to bring the dead bodies to India as soon as possible and provide all help to the injured.
