Pune: Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi will interact with students in Pune on Saturday. His 'Students' Echo' programme is being organised at SPMS College grounds in the city. Pune Police has approved this event, but 30 conditions have been set for it. These include conditions ranging from security arrangements to a ban on putting up posters, banners and photographs at the venue.
Students from all over the country are expected to attend this programme of Rahul Gandhi. The main focus of the programme will be on issues related to students. Rahul Gandhi will talk to the youth on topics related to education, security, equality, competitive examinations and career.
Through this dialogue, students will be given a chance to express their views openly. According to Congress, the purpose of the programme is to listen to the problems of the youth and raise those issues prominently.
While giving green signal for the event, Pune Police have asked the organisers to follow 30 conditions. Special instructions have been given regarding security arrangements. No objectionable poster, banner or picture of any kind will be allowed to be put up at the venue.
The police have made it clear that it will be necessary to follow the rules laid down during the programme. Instructions have also been given to the organisers regarding the arrangements and security of the event.
This ground of Pune is not new for Rahul Gandhi. During the 2024 Lok Sabha election campaign, a big public meeting was organised at the same place. Now Rahul Gandhi will once again reach the same ground and talk directly to the students.
Congress is seeing this programme as an important effort to reach out to the youth. Rahul Gandhi has been continuously raising issues related to education and youth for some time.
The 'Chhatraon Ki Goonj' campaign has been started with the aim of talking about the problems of the youth. Earlier such events had been organized in Kota, Dehradun and Prayagraj.
In Prayagraj, Rahul Gandhi had described youth as the biggest strength of the country. He had said that the role of youth is most important in the future of the country and their voice should be heard.
This programme in Pune is taking place at a time when recently a controversy related to Rahul Gandhi had come to light in Delhi. Some people had sat on a dharna outside the police barricade to protest against the alleged use of Rahul Gandhi during the demonstration at Jantar Mantar. A demand was made to register an FIR in this case, which was later accepted by the police.
Now after those incidents in Delhi, all eyes are on Rahul Gandhi's student dialogue programme to be held in Pune.
