National News: The weather in Delhi-NCR has changed once again. Heavy rain that began late Sunday night continued on Tuesday evening, bringing strong showers to Delhi and nearby NCR areas. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for parts of the city due to continuous rainfall. The downpour has led to a drop in temperature, giving residents some relief from the recent heat. However, the rain has also caused traffic jams in several areas and may afffect flight schedules. The Delhi airport authority has advised passengers to check flight updates before heading to the airport as operations could be disrupted by the bad weather.

Rain brings cool relief to residents

On Monday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 26.5°C, which is 7.7°C below normal, and the minimum temperature was 20.6°C, which is 1.7°C above normal. People have felt the coolness due to this. According to the Meteorological Department, the rain is caused by a western disturbance. A cyclonic circulation has formed over northeastern Afghanistan and nearby Pakistan, 3.1 to 5.8 km above sea level, creating a trough in the upper westerly winds. Another cyclonic circulation is present over central Pakistan and nearby western Rajasthan, up to 1.5 km above sea level.

Relief and trouble both

Since Sunday night, heavy rain has been occurring in several parts of Delhi at intervals. This has caused traffic jams and waterlogging, troubling people. Although the rain has brought relief from the hot and humid weather, it has also caused disruption in daily life.

Heavy rain likely to continue till tonight

The Meteorological Department had earlier predicted heavy rain for October 7. After this, the rain may stop from October 8 (tomorrow). On Wednesday, there may be partial cloud cover, but the chances of rain are low. From October 9 to 12, the sky is expected to remain mostly clear. According to the forecast, the maximum temperature during October 8–12 may be around 32–33°C, and the minimum temperature around 21–22°C.
