Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, coinciding with his 53rd birthday, led the rituals, performing the revered ‘netronmilana’ to consecrate idols of Lord Ram, Sita, Lakshman, Bharat, Shatrughna, and Hanuman. The three-day ceremony, culminating on Ganga Dussehra, drew thousands of devotees and over 500 invited guests, with Vedic chants and havan filling the air. Ayodhya, adorned with flowers and lights, celebrated this historic moment, reinforcing its status as a global spiritual beacon.

A Sacred Ceremony Unfolds

The consecration of the Ram Darbar marked a pivotal chapter in Ayodhya’s spiritual journey, with the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple radiating sanctity. The rituals began on June 3, with preparatory rites like jaladhivas and gandhadhivas, purifying the idols through sacred water and scents. On the final day, at 11:25 AM IST, CM Yogi, guided by priests from Varanasi and local seers, performed the netronmilana, symbolically awakening the deities.

The temple’s first-floor Darbar, designed with intricate carvings, housed the idols in a golden setting, captivating devotees. Over 100 Vedic scholars chanted mantras, while havan fires illuminated the sanctum. The Saryu River ghats, lined with diyas, hosted parallel celebrations, with folk performances and bhajans echoing across Ayodhya. Security was stringent, with 3,000 personnel ensuring safety for the influx of pilgrims. The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, overseeing the event, ensured live streaming for millions worldwide, amplifying the ceremony’s reach. For devotees like Ramesh Tiwari, a local shopkeeper, the event was “a divine blessing, uniting us in Ram’s love.”

CM Yogi’s Devotional Leadership

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s participation in the Ram Darbar Pran Pratishtha, on his 53rd birthday, underscored his deep connection to Ayodhya’s revival. His performance of the shodasha upachar puja, a 16-step worship, was a highlight, symbolizing devotion and humility. Yogi’s leadership in transforming Ayodhya—through projects like the international airport and widened roads—has elevated the city’s global appeal. “This is a day for Sanatanis to unite under Lord Ram’s grace,” he said, dedicating the event to Uttar Pradesh’s prosperity. Devotees and saints, including Shankaracharya Vasudevanand Saraswati, praised his commitment, with prayers for his health resonating across temples.

The event, attended by dignitaries like Governor Anandiben Patel, blended spirituality with governance, as Yogi emphasized cultural preservation. Social media buzzed with #JaiShriRam, reflecting public admiration. The convergence of his birthday with the consecration added a personal touch, reinforcing his image as a leader rooted in faith, guiding Ayodhya toward a future where tradition and progress harmonize.
