Ramban Cloudburst: 4 Killed, 1 Missing, Massive Rescue Ops Underway

 A sudden cloudburst struck Gadgram village in the Rajgarh area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Ramban district, leaving four people dead and one missing. The district administration immediately launched rescue and relief operations, with senior officials rushing to the site to take charge of the situation.

Condolences from the Lieutenant Governor

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha expressed deep sorrow over the fatalities in Ramban and Reasi caused by heavy rainfall that led to a cloudburst and landslides. He further assured that every possible help is being extended to those impacted. The LG held discussions with senior officials to review the situation and later shared on social media, saying he was pained by the incident and that all necessary assistance is being provided. He also mentioned that rescue and relief work is continuing in both districts.

Rescue Teams on the Ground

Rescue teams have launched a search operation to trace those missing and provide urgent help to the victims. SSP Ramban, Arun Gupta, informed that four bodies have already been recovered while one person is yet to be found. He added that flash floods from the cloudburst damaged a house and a school, causing hardship to the locals. Gupta further explained that the administration is making every effort to support the affected families. Relief and rescue operations are being carried out under the close watch of the DC, SSP, and ASP, who reached the site early in the morning to coordinate the work.

Authorities confirmed that the sudden cloudburst has not only claimed lives but also disturbed normal life in the Rajgarh area. Relief teams are focusing on immediate support while further steps are planned to help residents recover from the tragedy.
