New Delhi: The car explosion took place near Gate No. 1 of the Red Fort Metro Station during a busy evening hour, resulting in a loud blast that shook the entire area, eight people died on the spot while twenty-four others suffered injuries, the impact of the blast caused nearby vehicles to catch fire instantly, crowds began running in panic as smoke covered the road, eyewitnesses said they had never seen such a powerful explosion before, emergency teams reached within minutes to secure the scene, and the area was completely sealed for public safety.

Firefighters Worked To Control Flames

Right after the blast, flames spread to several vehicles parked nearby and the fire intensified quickly, fire department officials sent seven fire tenders to the location, firefighters worked continuously to control the burning cars and surrounding structures, injured people were taken to nearby hospitals with the help of local volunteers, authorities suspect that a highly flammable substance was stored inside the car, though the exact cause of the blast is still under investigation, the strong heat left the road damaged and the air filled with smoke, and the entire area remained under emergency lockdown.

Following the blast, Mumbai Police implemented high alert in sensitive areas like stations and marketplaces, police patrols increased around religious places, malls, and crowded junctions, in Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ordered stronger security arrangements across major cities, drone surveillance, special checking points, and barricades were set up to monitor public movement, police presence in cities like Lucknow, Noida, Ghaziabad, and Varanasi was increased, the aim is to prevent any possible chain attack or coordinated threat, and statewide vigilance is being maintained continuously.

Terror Network Under Investigation

Security agencies revealed that the blast may be linked to a larger terror plan already under watch, prior raids in Jammu-Kashmir, Gujarat, and Haryana had uncovered weapons and explosives, several suspects were arrested including Dr. Adil Ahmed from Anantnag and Dr. Muzammil Shakil from Faridabad, authorities recovered AK-47s, assault rifles, and nearly 360 kilograms of ammonium nitrate, investigators believe the explosives could have been meant for multiple attacks, intelligence agencies are now tracing financial and communication links, and further arrests are expected.

NIA And Police Lead The Probe

The National Investigation Agency and Delhi Police Special Cell are examining all clues collected from the blast site, CCTV footage from nearby roads, shops, and metro areas is being analyzed frame by frame, forensic teams collected metal fragments and chemical residues for laboratory testing, officers say this was not an accidental explosion but a planned execution, investigators are identifying the vehicle’s registration history and movement path before the blast, all recovered data is being cross-checked with existing terror watch lists, and official statements will be released only after concrete findings.

Public Areas Under Strict Watch

Due to the high alert, cities have increased police presence in public places, security teams are checking suspicious vehicles and unattended bags in crowded areas, metro stations and bus terminals are being scanned regularly, traffic monitoring units are observing major junctions to ensure smooth movement, people have been advised to avoid spreading rumors and share accurate information only, authorities have requested citizens to report any unusual activity immediately, and the government is working to maintain public calm and prevent panic.

Fear And Tension Among Citizens

The blast happened in one of the busiest zones between Red Fort and Chandni Chowk where thousands move daily, people are afraid that such an attack could happen again in crowded areas, shopkeepers say business atmosphere has turned tense and uncertain, tourists and local shoppers are hesitant to gather in large numbers, police are investigating how the car reached the location and whether it was part of a bigger conspiracy, final answers will come only after the full investigation is complete, and the city remains on alert as people wait for clarity.
