Viral: In a heartbreaking incident from Uttar Pradesh's Saharanpur, a man identified as Vikas consumed poison with his wife and three children due to financial distress. The family was found unconscious on the Saharanpur-Dehradun highway, which created alarm among people passing by that immediately informed the authorities. One good Samaritan, Babar, took them into his car and rushed them to a nearby hospital, saving them from death. 

Debt-driven desperation

After some time, Vikas regained consciousness in the hospital. He narrated the worst circumstances surrounding the incident. Overwhelming debt and nonstop pressure mounted on him to such an extent that even stepping out of his home became unbearable. Thus, in the extreme desperation, he chose to end his life with the family.

Good samaritan's quick thinking saves lives

Babar, who found the family unconscious, thought they were the victims of an accident. But when he saw foam coming out of their mouths, he realized the gravity of the situation and immediately called the police before transporting the family to the hospital. His prompt action ensured timely medical attention, stabilizing their condition.

Family's identity and police investigation

Vikas is his name, belonging to Nandi Firozpur village. Rajnish, the wife and three children-Palak, Vivek, and Pari were the other victims of the fatal act. Police informed the relatives and initiated investigation.

 Authorities spoke on the incident

SP City Vyom Bindal, who visited the site, confirmed that the act was driven by the burden of debt. The police are examining all aspects of the case, including the source of the debt and the pressures faced by Vikas.
