New Delhi: In an unfortunate incident, Air India flight AI174, which was traveling from San Francisco to Delhi via Kolkata, was diverted to Mongolia’s Ulaanbaatar, as a precautionary measure. As per reports, the Air India flight was diverted reportedly due to a suspected techical glitch. As per reports, the Air India flight landed safely on Sunday and all passengers and crew were safe.
The official statement released by Air India Spokesperson on X read, "AI174 of 02 November, operating from San Francisco to Delhi via Kolkata, made a precautionary landing at Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, after the flight crew suspected a technical issue en route. The aircraft landed safely at Ulaanbaatar and is undergoing the necessary checks.
The statement further read, ''We are working closely with our partners to support all passengers while we make efforts to get everyone on their way to the destination at the earliest opportunity. We regret the inconvenience caused to passengers due to the unforeseen situation. At Air India, the safety of passengers and crew remains a top priority."
Meanwhile, on Sunday, the Shree Airlines en route from Dhangadhi to Kathmandu made an emergency landing at the airport in Bhairahawa. The pilot reported, "a problem with hydraulics."
"The flight had taken off from Dhangadhi at around 10 AM (Local Time), and the pilot reported problems with the hydraulics. It was asked to make an emergency landing at the airport here," the Information officer at the Gautam Buddha International Airport, Binod Singh Raut told ANI.
He further added, "With the aircraft still on the runway of the airport, we had to close the airport for about forty minutes. The aircraft moved to the taxi-way after resolution of the issue with the hydraulics at around 12:30 in the afternoon."
