Bengaluru: Just ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Bengaluru, a major security scare has come to light. At least two gelatin sticks were recovered a short distance from the event venue, triggering alarm among security agencies. According to the police, these explosive materials were discovered along a footpath near an ashram in the Kaggalipura area during routine security checks conducted on Sunday morning, prior to the Prime Minister's arrival. This location is situated approximately three kilometers away from the main event venue.

What did the Karnataka Police say?

In an official statement, the police confirmed that two gelatin sticks were recovered from the roadside, roughly three kilometers from the Prime Minister's event venue. Upon receiving information about the incident, security forces immediately cordoned off the entire area. The Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) and a forensic team were summoned to the scene. Reports suggest that the police have detained a suspect and have commenced interrogation. The investigation into the entire matter is ongoing. Security arrangements surrounding Prime Minister Modi's event have been further tightened and reinforced. Officials state that while there are currently no indications of an organized terrorist plot, the investigation is being conducted from every possible angle.

Did PM Modi Attend 'Art of Living' Foundation Event?

It is noteworthy that PM Modi attended an event organized at the 'Art of Living' International Centre in Bengaluru to participate in the celebrations marking the 45th anniversary of the 'Art of Living Foundation' and to join the festivities associated with its founder, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. Speaking on the occasion on Sunday, PM Modi lauded the 'Art of Living Foundation' for its role in promoting service, spirituality, and social transformation. He also issued a call for collective efforts—driven by environmental responsibility, youth empowerment, and inner well-being—to build a 'Viksit Bharat' (Developed India).

He described Bengaluru as a city that has not only emerged as a global technology hub but has also elevated India's spiritual and cultural consciousness to new heights. The Prime Minister also inaugurated a new meditation center within the sprawling campus and congratulated the organization for creating a sanctuary of peace and wellness for future generations. Citing India's civilizational values, he stated that the fundamental ethos binding the country's immense diversity is selfless service.

Modi remarked that, historically, spiritual movements in India have expressed themselves through the service of humanity. He lauded 'The Art of Living' for embodying this principle through various welfare programs, including initiatives for tribal empowerment and efforts to improve the mental health of prisoners. The Prime Minister noted that spiritual movements in India place a strong emphasis on serving humanity. Modi asserted that societal participation is far more effective than political systems and is, therefore, essential for nation-building. Citing the success of the Swachh Bharat Mission as an example, he stated that no government can succeed unless society itself actively participates in the process of nation-building.
