Girija Vyas
National News: Dr. Girija Vyas, who was an example of decency and gentleness in the world of politics, is no longer in this world. The famous Rajasthan leader, former Union Minister and well-known poetess today breathed his last in a hospital in Ahmedabad. She was swinging between life and death for the last one month.
The whole matter is on 31 March. Gangaur was going on in Udaipur, there was a bright in the house, but then an accident happened. Deepak's flame made his dupatta a spark, and seriously scorched Dr. Vyas was first admitted to Udaipur and then to Zaydas Hospital in Ahmedabad. The condition was critical from the beginning, and this morning the news of his death came.
Born in Nathdwara in 1946, Girija Vyas was fast in studies. From Mohanlal Sukhadia University in Udaipur to the University of Delaware of America, she touched the heights of education. But she got real identity from politics - that too in a very dignified manner.
She became an MLA in 1985, then elected MP from Udaipur in 1991. She became a minister in Narasimha Rao's government and later she was also the chairperson of the National Commission for Women. The issue he raised, kept it with full vigor - whether it is women's safety or education, he always spoke to the soft but with great power.
Dr. Vyas had another identity - poetess. Wrote eight books, three of which were her poems. She threaded emotions in words with such a beauty that the reader used to stop, started thinking. Her poems used to give voice to the pain of the common woman, the upheaval of the society and the struggle of politics.
On his death, there was an influx of tributes from all over the country including the Congress party. Ashok Gehlot said that this is a personal loss. KC Venugopal described them as the voice of women, and the Assam Congress remembered him as "Intelligent Voice".
And it is also right - Girija Vyas was among those leaders who did not scream, but did politics with understanding and sensitivity.
Today, when the leaders are entangled in changing statements and accusations, at such a time, the person like Girija Vyas leaves a huge shortage. She was a leader, a teacher, a poet - but above this, she was a very good person. And this will be the most remembered today.
