Strong winds overturned tourists' boat

A major accident took place in the famous Dal Lake of Srinagar on Friday evening. A shikara, in which tourists were boarding, became unbalanced due to sudden strong winds and overturned in the lake. During this time, the tourists sitting in the shikara fell into the cold water of the lake and were seen swimming around to save their lives.

A video of the accident has also surfaced, in which it can be clearly seen that people are screaming for help in the water. As soon as the shikara overturned, there was chaos and other sailors present nearby rushed to help. According to eyewitnesses, the wind was so strong that the shikara driver could not keep control.

Administration started relief work

As soon as the accident was reported, the local administration immediately started the rescue operation. With the help of water police, SDRF and local boatmen, the tourists who fell into the lake were rescued. There is no official confirmation of how many people have been injured or missing so far.
