Patna: Ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav's younger son, Tejashwi Yadav, has made a major political move. Tejashwi Yadav has nominated Tej Pratap Yadav's cousin, Karishma Rai, for the Parsa Assembly seat. Rai is the niece of senior RJD leader Chandrika Rai, who is the father-in-law of Lalu Yadav's elder son, Tej Pratap Yadav.
According to sources, Karishma Rai was also seeking a ticket from the RJD in the last assembly elections, but was denied one. It was believed that the Lalu family denied Karishma a ticket due to the ongoing case between Tej Pratap and his wife Aishwarya Rai. The family supported Tej Pratap at the time.ॉ
However, five years later, the equations have completely changed. Tej Pratap is out of the party and family. He is contesting this assembly election by forming his own party. Tej Pratap Yadav will file his nomination from the Mahua constituency today. He has invited his supporters to attend the nomination.
Lalu Yadav's decision to field Karishma Rai from the Parsa seat, balancing family ties and political equations, is being considered a significant development in the region's politics. Bihar's assembly elections are scheduled to be held in two phases. Voting for the first phase will take place on November 6th.
