National News: Security in Tirupati city has been beefed up to the highest level after threats of terrorist bomb blasts. Police received two suspicious emails in which unknown senders claimed that ISI and ex-LTTE militants from Tamil Nadu are planning something in Tirupati. These emails mentioned the use of RDX explosives to target four key locations in the city, creating an atmosphere of fear among authorities and citizens.
Considering the danger, police immediately raised alertness and activated bomb disposal squads (BD teams). Intensive checks were carried out in sensitive areas such as RTC bus stand, Srinivasam, Vishnu Nivasam, Kapila Theertham, and Govindarajula Swamy temple. Police also carried out large-scale inspections at judges’ residential complexes and court premises to ensure no suspicious activity goes unnoticed. To strengthen security further, the agricultural college helipad was also inspected on the 6th of this month during Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s visit to Tirupati. This was done to make sure the Chief Minister’s travel remained safe and any possible danger could be handled immediately. In the same way, BD teams launched search drives in major religious sites of Tirupati. Checks were carried out at Padmavathi Ammavari temple in Tiruchanur, Tirumala, and Srikalahasti temple. Since these temples and pilgrim places draw huge crowds of devotees, security measures have been made extremely strict.
After the threats, an atmosphere of worry was seen among devotees and local people in Tirupati. The administration appealed to the public not to believe in rumors and to follow instructions from police and security agencies. People were also advised to inform local police or BD teams immediately if they notice any suspicious object or person. Police officers said that constant monitoring is going on across sensitive areas of the city. Security has been tightened at all public and religious places in Tirupati, and BD teams are working actively to remove any possible threat on time.
This incident has not only made the administration more alert but has also increased awareness about security among the people. Police and intelligence agencies are jointly reviewing safety arrangements across the city to stop any possible danger. Residents and pilgrims have been urged to remain calm and follow all safety guidelines. After receiving bomb threats in Tirupati, security measures have been raised to full alert. Police and bomb squads have begun strict inspections in sensitive areas and important temples. The administration is keeping close watch on potential threats to ensure the safety of both citizens and devotees.
