Fresh Setback for Uddhav Thackeray as 6 Rebel MPs Back Shinde, Write to Lok Sabha Speaker (X)
Mumbai: There are signs of earthquake once again in Maharashtra politics. The changed stance of many Shiv Sena UBT Lok Sabha MPs has become a headache for the Uddhav Thackeray camp. There is talk that at least 6 MPs of the party are planning to form a separate faction or join the real Shiv Sena led by Eknath Shinde. Amidst these speculations, there is a stir in Delhi and the matter has now directly reached Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla.
This has been the discussion in the corridors of Delhi-Mumbai for the last few days. Some MPs are angry with the party leadership. According to sources, these MPs have also explored the option of forming a separate group in the Lok Sabha. It is being told that the rebel MPs have also given a letter to the Speaker. But what is written in the letter has not been made public yet.
As soon as the news of the rebellion spread, senior Shiv Sena UBT leader and party leader in Lok Sabha Arvind Sawant became active. He wrote a letter to Speaker Om Birla demanding that no separate recognition be given to any rebel group. Sawant said that the case regarding the party's symbol and name is still going on in the court. In such a situation, it would be too early to recognize the new group.
Some people in Maharashtra politics are calling this entire exercise 'Operation Tiger'. UBT MP and Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Raut directly alleged that a plan is being made to break the party from within. According to Raut, pressure is being put on some MPs, they are being persuaded to join Shinde faction. But till now no open reply has come from the rebel MPs.
The news of the meeting of Shinde and some UBT MPs in Delhi has raised the political temperature. There are reports that the Shinde faction wants to increase its numbers in the Lok Sabha. If UBT MPs break away and join Shinde, the strength of NDA will become stronger. The game of numbers in the Lok Sabha can completely change.
The Uddhav camp has come into alert mode after hearing the news of the breakdown. Big leaders of the party are talking to each MP on phone. A meeting was also held in Delhi, further strategy was made. UBT leaders are saying that most of the MPs are with them. The news of breakdown is being spread, the reality is something else.
In 2022, Shiv Sena was divided into two parts. Then Uddhav had lost the post of CM. Now if the MPs split in the Lok Sabha also, it will be the second big blow for Uddhav. The party's strength in the Lok Sabha will reduce and new equations will be created in the politics of Maharashtra. Right now everyone's eyes are on two things, what decision will Speaker Om Birla take and when will the rebel MPs clear their stand.
