According to the Indian Meteorological Department, rain alert has been issued in 20 states and union territories today. Due to the effect of low-pressure areas over the Bay of Bengal, there is a possibility of heavy rain in many parts of Eastern and Central India. At the same time, the departure of monsoon from North India has also started.
