Nandini is the household name for pure and fresh milk and milk products across the nation. The renowned dairy brand of Karnataka is set to showcase its presence on the international stage during the upcoming T20 World Cup in June. The Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) has taken a bold step by sponsoring the Scotland and Ireland cricket teams for the tournament, marking a historic moment for the home-grown brand.

First-of-its-kind sponsorship

In an unprecedented move, Nandini becomes the first local brand, previously making headlines during the assembly elections, to sponsor international cricket teams. Managing Director MK Jagadish expressed pride in this initiative, highlighting that Nandini's logo will be prominently displayed during the matches, amplifying its global visibility.

Expansion into energy drink market

Beyond cricket, Nandini is poised to make waves in the United States market with its upcoming whey-based energy drink, 'Nandini Splash.' With ambitions to establish a global footprint, MK Jagadish aims to position Nandini as a focal point during the World Cup, leveraging the tournament's platform to introduce its energy drink to consumers worldwide.

Global stage beckons

The T20 Cricket World Cup will kickstart on June 4 following the conclusion of the ongoing IPL. The highly anticipated tournament will be co-hosted by the United States of America (USA) and the West Indies. This presents a monumental opportunity for Nandini to shine on an international scale, reinforcing its identity as a symbol of Karnataka's excellence.

Political backdrop

Amidst these developments, memories of past political controversies resurface, particularly the backlash faced by the erstwhile BJP government in Karnataka during the assembly elections. Clarifications by former CM Basavaraj Bommai regarding the coexistence of Amul and Nandini brands serve as a reminder of the significance of home-grown identities in the state's cultural and economic landscape.
