There was to be a match between Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi today at 8 pm, but parts of the stadium have been blown up with a drone attack. A drone attacked Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium some hours before an 8 pm match of the Pakistan Super League today, informed sources told India Today TV on Thursday.

Destruction and Injuries Reported

As per sources, the drone crashed and reduced a restaurant building near the stadium to rubbles. The region has been cordon-blockaded by the authorities and investigated on the origin of the drone as well as if it had anything on board in terms of payloads. The injured civilians were both taken to the local hospital to receive treatment.

Growing hostilities between India and Pakistan

This incident came hours after Islamabad tried to target 15 Indian military installations, prompting India to destroy the air defence radar systems in Lahore on Thursday. Pakistan Army Spokesman Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry previously claimed that some of the drones were destroyed in Lahore, Gujranwala, Chakwal, Bahawalpur, Miano, Karachi, Chhor, Rawalpindi, and Attock.

Safety Concerns for PSL Tournament

The drone crash has also raised questions about the safety of players and spectators throughout the tournament. Earlier, England's players who were in the PSL were reported to be divided on whether to stay in the country or return home. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) also conducted an emergency meeting to assess the security situation.
