Pat Cummins set to be a part of a kids TV series (Social Media)
Sports News: Australian captain Pat Cummins has led his nation to a number of triumphs across formats. He is among the best fast bowlers in the world at the moment. However, the Aussie skipper also has a keen interest in cartoons. The fast bowler is now a part of a kids' TV series, 'Snick and Willow.' The show is based on two cricket enthusiasts who enjoy cricket together and encourage friendship and fair play.
In the Xentrix Studios-produced series, Snick, an Indian child, and Willow, an Australian girl who loves fast bowling, set out on a global mission to uncover cricket treasures and protect their local club from developers.
The skipper said that the game of cricket is very important to him and that the show, Snick and Willow, is doing something really special. "Growing the game of cricket has always been incredibly important to me. What Snick and Willow are doing is really special—it’s a fun, vibrant way to bring cricket to kids everywhere. I’m especially excited about the role of Willow in the series and how her journey can help inspire young girls to fall in love with cricket. This show has the potential to leave a real mark on the sport’s future,” said Cummins.
The show now has its own website. The character bio of Willow says that Willow is an 11-year-old Australian girl who has moved to India with her father. Johnno Evans, Willow's father, coaches a local club team. “While adjusting to a new country and culture presents its challenges, Willow’s outgoing nature helps her embrace the vibrant energy of her surroundings with enthusiasm and curiosity,” her character bio says.
There are now six characters. Other than Willow and Snick (a local club's captain and star wicketkeeper), there are Sir Malik, Madam Chair Sunita, Coach Evans, Ajun, and PERCI (Personalized Electro Remote Communications Interface), which looks like a cricket ball until it starts beeping, challenges gravity, and changes into an all-knowing cricket fact droid.
