According to a report by ASports.tv, the PCB cited unavoidable circumstances for postponing the jersey launch. However, inside sources suggest that this decision is directly linked to the lack of formal approval from the Pakistani government. An official said, "The Pakistan Cricket Board has already made arrangements for the World Cup squad to depart for Colombo on the morning of February 2nd. This statement clearly indicates that at the administrative level, the Pakistan Cricket Board is still keeping the option of playing in the tournament open."

The official further added, "It should be noted that all of Pakistan's T20 World Cup matches are to be held in Sri Lanka, even the final, if the team qualifies. So, what would be the basis for boycotting the tournament or the match against India?"

This statement clearly highlights the confusion prevailing within the PCB. Since no matches are scheduled to be played in India, the scope for objections regarding security or hosting arrangements appears extremely limited.
