National News: Shivam Dube, who led Team India to victory in the Asia Cup final, has once again shown his prowess. Playing for Mumbai in a practice match, he thrashed the Maharashtra bowlers. The left-handed batsman reached his century in just 62 balls, scoring 100 runs. Significantly, Dube hit nine sixes and five fours in his innings. The match between Maharashtra and Mumbai ended in a draw, but Dube's impressive hitting was evident in the inconclusive match. His innings reminded fans of his fearless stroke play against international teams. Many young players are now looking up to him for inspiration. The selectors too will be keeping a close watch on his consistent form.

Coming in at number four, Dubey wreaked havoc

Shivam Dube came in at number four in the match being played in Pune and scored this century. Mumbai openers Angkrish Raghuvanshi was dismissed for 27 and Akash Anand for just 5. Hardik Tamore retired hurt on 24, but Shivam Zubey then batted aggressively, scoring a blistering century at a strike rate of nearly 160. Dube hit left-arm spinner Hitesh Walunj the most during his innings, hitting four consecutive sixes in his over. His fearless hitting brought the small crowd in Pune to its feet. Coaches praised his ability to attack both pacers and spinners alike. This kind of hitting shows why he is being seen as India’s big-hitting finisher.

Prithvi Shaw also made a blast

Prithvi Shaw also scored a remarkable century in this match. Playing for Maharashtra, Shaw scored 181 runs in the first innings. Arsheen Kulkarni also scored a brilliant century alongside him. The two shared a partnership of over 300 runs for the first wicket. However, both batsmen failed in the second innings. Prithvi Shaw scored 22 runs, while Kulkarni managed just one. Shaw’s first innings knock, though, reminded fans of his natural aggressive style. His timing and placement once again showed why he is rated so highly. If he can stay consistent, Shaw could soon find himself back in India’s national team discussions.
