Raipur, Chhattisgarh, December 10: Following his appointment as the new Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Tribal leader and former Union Minister Vishnu Deo Sai expressed his commitment to work with integrity to gain the trust of everyone. He pledged to fulfil the guarantees made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi under the 'Modi Ki Guarantee.'

Prioritising Promises

Vishnu Deo Sai emphasised his dedication to the principles of 'Sabka Vishwas' and assured that the commitments made to the people of Chhattisgarh would be honoured during his tenure. He highlighted that the first task on the agenda would be providing 18 lakh 'Awas' (houses) to the citizens.

Gratitude to Leadership

Expressing gratitude, Sai acknowledged the trust placed in him by PM Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and BJP National President JP Nadda. He thanked them for the unanimous selection as the leader of the legislative assembly.

Political Background

Sai emerged victorious in the recent assembly polls from Kunkuri in north Chhattisgarh, an area where the BJP secured a sweeping victory. With a notable presence in the BJP, he has held various positions, including that of the former state chief and former union minister. Hailing from the influential Sahu (Teli) community, Sai has a substantial presence in the Durg, Raipur, and Bilaspur divisions.

Key Positions

Sai served as the State President of the party for Chhattisgarh from 2020 to 2022. In the first cabinet of PM Modi, he held the position of Union Minister of State for Mines and Steel. Renowned among tribal voters, his leadership is expected to bring stability to the state.

BJP Central Observers' Meeting

Earlier, BJP central observers Sarbananda Sonowal and Arjun Munda convened a meeting in Raipur, overseeing the process that led to Sai's unanimous selection.

Election Overview

The state's polling took place in two phases, with the first on November 7 featuring 223 candidates and the second, on November 17, seeing 958 candidates testing their electoral fortunes. Of the 90 assembly constituencies in Chhattisgarh, the BJP secured 54, while the Congress won 35.

Vishnu Deo Sai's leadership is poised to steer Chhattisgarh towards fulfilling promises and building trust in line with the 'Modi Ki Guarantee.'
