A Street Play On Road Safety Delivers The Message Of A ‘Safe Journey’

New Delhi: To spread the message of safe travel on the roads of the national capital, the Delhi Traffic Police organised a unique road safety awareness initiative on Wednesday. Under the supervision of Eastern Range Traffic DCP Shweta Chauhan, the Road Safety Cell, Traffic Inspector Vinay Singh and the Kalyanpuri Traffic staff actively participated in the ‘Safe Journey’ road safety awareness programme.

As part of the initiative, street plays were organised at Kondli and Sanjay Lake in the Kalyanpuri Traffic Circle area, near Trilokpuri Metro Station. The programme was organised in collaboration with Yug Sanskriti Nyas and Afcons Strabag.

The street theatre team delivered the road safety message through an entertaining performance that caught the attention of pedestrians and local residents, who stopped to watch the show. Through their performances, the artists effectively highlighted the dangers of speeding, reckless driving, driving by minors and ignoring traffic rules.

Around 170 people attended the first programme, while approximately 140 people participated in the second. The artists explained that traffic rules are not merely about challans or legal requirements but are directly linked to the lives and responsibilities of every person using the road.

During the programme, people were encouraged to wear helmets, follow traffic rules and exercise caution while driving. The public appreciated the street plays, describing them as informative, impactful and entertaining.
