Delhi Police Awareness Campaign at Narela Ramlila Reaches Over 2,500 People (Pankaj Rai)
New Delhi: This year, the Ramlila stage delivered not only the message of Lord Shri Ram's life but also a commitment to making society safer and free from crime. During the Ramlila celebrations at the DDA Ground in Narela, the Parivartan Cell team of Delhi Police's Outer North District raised awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse, women's safety and the growing threat of cybercrime. The event, organised by the Subhash Ramlila Natya Club, attracted more than 2,500 people, making it an important platform for public awareness.
The Outer North District Police's Parivartan Cell organised the special awareness programme in coordination with Narela Police Station. Outer North District Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police-I Lokeshwaran R. and Narela Police Station House Officer Inspector Rajendra Singh were present at the event.
The officers interacted with members of the Ramlila committee and reviewed the security arrangements at the venue. Special attention was given to ensuring the safety and convenience of devotees and spectators, along with maintaining smooth movement around the event area.
The main attraction of the programme was a street play that encouraged people to stay away from drug addiction, prioritise women's dignity and safety, and protect themselves from cybercriminals.
Through a simple yet impactful performance, the artists encouraged people to remain alert, adopt responsible behaviour and seek police assistance whenever necessary.
The police aim not only to take action after crimes occur but also to ensure public participation in crime prevention through awareness initiatives. This programme was organised as part of that effort.
The campaign was conducted under the leadership of Inspector Nisha. The team included Woman Head Constable Jasvini, Woman Head Constable Aarti and Woman Constable Neha.
The Outer North District of Delhi Police reiterated that such public outreach programmes would continue to strengthen trust between the police and the public, increase awareness about cybercrime and promote women's safety.
The message was clear: An aware citizen makes a safer society. Say no to drugs, say no to crime!
