These new corridors of the metro will help to expand the city's public transport network.
The project include the Majlis Park-Maujpur Babarpur (Pink Line) corridor of around 12.3 km and the Deepali Chowk-Majlis Park (Magenta Line) corridor of around 9.9 km. The new connectivity will benefit several areas of Delhi, including Burari, Jagatpur-Wazirabad, Khajuri Khas, Bhajanpura, Yamuna Vihar, Madhuban Chowk, Haiderpur Badli Mor, Bhalaswa, and Majlis Park, among others.
The Deepali Chowk-Majlis Park section is an extension of the Magenta Line. With the commissioning of this corridor, the total length of the Magenta Line will reach about 49 kilometres.
These project include the corridor from Ramakrishna Ashram Marg to Indraprastha, often referred to as the Central Vista corridor, the Aerocity to Indira Gandhi Airport Terminal-1 corridor, and the corridor from Tughlakabad to Kalindi Kunj.
Once completed, these corridors are expected to strengthen connectivity between Delhi’s administrative centres, residential neighbourhoods, and commercial districts. The Aerocity-Terminal-1 corridor will also provide faster and more direct Metro access to the airport for commuters.
