New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi visited Trilokpuri in East Delhi on Tuesday amid complaints from residents that their names were missing from electoral rolls. At a camp organised in Block 20, he interacted directly with local people and heard concerns from voters who said their names had been omitted or could not be found on the voter list.
The visit drew local attention as residents expressed concerns about registering their names on the electoral rolls and exercising their voting rights. People attending the camp shared their experiences with Gandhi, explaining the difficulties they had encountered after finding their names missing from the voter list.
Gandhi listened to their grievances and sought to understand the issues raised by the affected residents. The interaction provided an opportunity for voters to bring their concerns directly to the Congress leader.
The camp was held against the backdrop of complaints about names being deleted from electoral rolls or not appearing in the lists during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process.
The initiative in Trilokpuri focused on bringing the difficulties faced by affected voters into public discussion. Residents used the gathering to highlight questions and concerns relating to the accuracy and completeness of the electoral rolls.
Being registered on the electoral roll is an essential requirement for exercising the right to vote. When a name is missing, affected individuals need to check their registration details and follow the prescribed procedures to submit the necessary claims or objections.
Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Trilokpuri has once again brought complaints concerning missing voter names into political and public discussion, with residents seeking clarity and appropriate action on their grievances.
