Victory Over Evil Is Meaningful Only When Hatred Fades and the Pain of Loved Ones Is Healed (Pankaj Rai)
New Delhi: Dussehra is not merely a festival celebrating the victory of good over evil. It is also an opportunity to look within ourselves, understand human emotions and strengthen love, compassion and brotherhood in society. While the world is immersed in festive celebrations, it is equally important to remember those who silently struggle with difficulties, loneliness, sorrow and despair. With this message, Prof. M. D. Ray has urged people to embrace sensitivity, self-reflection and human values on the occasion of Dussehra.
In his message, Prof. M. D. Ray said the true meaning of a festival lies not only in celebrating it but also in bringing happiness and hope into the lives of others. He encouraged people to find the courage to overcome anger that hurts loved ones, give up the ego that creates distance in relationships and move beyond the indifference that makes people ignore the suffering of others.
He said that a few comforting words for someone in distress, a phone call to a person struggling with loneliness or a helping hand extended to someone going through a difficult time can be as valuable as any major act of support. Sometimes, even a small gesture can bring fresh hope into the life of someone who feels broken.
According to his message, sitting beside someone who is grieving is itself an act of compassion. Making a lonely person feel valued is a meaningful form of service to humanity, while standing by someone who is losing hope reflects the true spirit of humanity.
Prof. M. D. Ray extended his wishes for a peaceful and auspicious Dussehra to everyone. He emphasised that the victory of goodness must begin with our own thoughts, behaviour and actions. Only when the light of love, empathy and compassion shines within us can it illuminate the lives of others.
