Section 144 has been imposed in Ghaziabad. The administration has taken this decision in view of the G20 Summit and upcoming festivals. Ghaziabad Police Commissionerate has imposed prohibitory actions under section 144 till October 15 to ensure peace and maintain law and order in the district.
The month of September will feature festivals like Janmashtami (September 6 and 7), Vishwakarma Puja (September 17), Eid-ul-Milad ( September 28), followed by Gandhi Jayanti on October 2. Besides, the G20 Summit will be held in the national capital from September 8 to September 10.
Ghaziabad Police Commissionerate has issued a list of restrictions including, hosting events without prior approval, protests comprising 4 or more people without prior permission, or use of loudspeakers during the given dates.
• Planning of any activity that may disturb the peace or incite communal violence.
• Firecrackers are strictly prohibited and commuting with weapons such as knives and guns etc. is banned.
• Use of loudspeakers or DJs is not allowed during these festive days.
• Without any approval, a protest comprising of 4 or more people will not be permitted.
In the prohibitory order, consumption of alcohol, use of products banned by the government of India such as single-use plastic, or dissemination of political messages on social, or print media, ‘the police Commissionerate has restrained people.
Violation of any law and rules will invite strict actions against those accused, ‘ The police Commissionerate state that’.
This year, India will be hosting G20 Summit 2023 in Delhi from September 8 to September 10. Ahead of the G20 summit, a flag march was conducted in the northeast districts of Delhi at Jafrabad, Nand Nagri, and Dayalpur area of northeast districts.
Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has braced his entire team for the mega events going to be part of the G20 Summit. Saxena inspected the preparations at the state-of-the-art Bharat Mandapam Convention Center at Pragati Maidan, where this year’s G20 Summit will be held.
On September 8, to avoid inconvenience to the people dignitaries including Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, principal secretary to PM Modi PK Mishra, among others will be commuting by minibuses.
