Bhuna: Bhuna Police have arrested a fourth accused in an alleged fraud involving funds released under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY). The accused, Rajbir, son of Sohlu Ram and a resident of Jandli Kalan village in Bhuna police station limits, is accused of getting ₹1.16 lakh belonging to another farmer transferred into his own and his wife’s bank accounts.
Three other accused had already been arrested in connection with the case. Police said Rajbir would be produced before the court, while further investigation and legal proceedings are continuing.
Bhuna Police Station SHO Sub-Inspector Kanwar Singh said the case originated from a complaint filed by the Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Fatehabad. The complaint alleged financial irregularities and fraud involving crop insurance payments at Gorakhpur Primary Agricultural Cooperative Society (PACS), as well as rental income from shops belonging to the PACS in Mochi village.

According to the investigation report, ₹1.16 lakh in crop insurance compensation belonging to farmer Subey Singh, son of Ramchander, was transferred into Rajbir’s bank account.
Police said the amount was subsequently divided, with ₹51,000 transferred to another bank account held by Rajbir and ₹65,000 transferred to his wife’s account.
