Bhopal: Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, the head priest (Peethadhishwar) of Bageshwar Dham, is once again making headlines due to his remarks. His comments regarding women and alcohol are rapidly going viral on social media, triggering a wave of reactions to his statement. This is not the first time he has been the subject of public discourse due to his statements.
During an address, the head priest of Bageshwar Dham stated that women and mothers from affluent families have now started consuming alcohol, a trend that is negatively impacting the moral values and cultural ethos of society. He argued that if the mothers within a household themselves impart such values, it will inevitably have a detrimental effect on the coming generation. Continuing his speech, he further asserted that in families where women consume alcohol, the upbringing and moral development of the children are also compromised.
Elaborating on his point, Shastri remarked that if a mother herself consumes alcohol, she will inevitably steer her children in the same direction. Speaking in a sarcastic tone, he suggested that in such households, if a child were to cry, they might even be given alcohol to pacify them. A video clip of this statement is being shared widely across social media platforms, and the controversy surrounding it has intensified.
This is not the first instance in which Dhirendra Krishna Shastri has garnered attention for his statements. In the past, several of his remarks concerning religion, politics, social issues, and women have sparked controversy. Most recently, a statement he made regarding Shivaji had also been the subject of considerable public debate.
