Twisha Sharma Death Case: CBI Gets Five-Day Custody Of Samarth, Giribala Singh (x)

Bhopal: In the actress-model Twisha Sharma death case, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday got the five-day custody of former judge Giribala Singh, mother-in-law of alleged dowry-death victim by Bhopal district court till June 2. The agency also got a five-day extension in the custody of her husband, Samarth Singh.

What did the court say?

On Friday, the Special Judge Shobhana Bhalave allowed the CBI to take both accused into custody for five days for further interrogation.

As part of its ongoing investigation in the case, the CBI will now question  Giribala Singh and Samarth Singh.

Samrat Singh was already in CBI custody on a seven-day remand. The court has now extended his custody by another five days. During this period, investigators will conduct face-to-face questioning of both accused. The agency is also expected to question Samrat about where he remained while absconding and who may have assisted him.

When was Giribala Singh arrested?

Giribala Singh, who has been accused of tampering with evidence, was arrested by the CBI on Thursday after nearly seven hours of questioning. The agency had formally registered an FIR in the case on the night of May 25.

According to CBI sources, investigators will now employ a “tunnel view” investigation technique as part of the probe. The agency is preparing a virtual reconstruction of Twisha’s final hours to examine, minute by minute, the sequence of events and activities before and after the incident.
