A shocking incident occurred on July 14 in Gatti Jatta village, Dharmkot, Moga district of Punjab, where a family dispute turned violent. A younger brother attacked his elder brother and his family, and the entire incident was caught on CCTV. The video has since gone viral on social media.
It should be noted that the entire episode was recorded on a nearby CCTV camera. In the footage, it is clearly seen how the accused used his own car as a weapon to try and run over his brother’s entire family. The video is spreading quickly on social platforms, leaving viewers stunned.
Surjit Singh, a resident of Gatti Jatta village, is the father of three sons and was initially living with his youngest, Dilbagh Singh. However, about a month ago, a dispute over property escalated to the point that Dilbagh threw his parents out of the house. After this, Surjit Singh and his wife moved in with their elder son, Gurvinder Singh.
Angered by this, Dilbagh Singh developed hostility towards his elder brother. It is being reported that Dilbagh had threatened his elder brother several times in the past.
On the day of the incident, Gurvinder Singh was near his house gate with his wife and daughter when Dilbagh Singh drove up in his car. First, he dropped off his wife from the car and then drove it at high speed toward the three of them. The collision was so intense that all three were thrown into the air and landed hard on the ground. They were briefly trapped under the car following the impact.
In the attack, Gurvinder Singh, his wife, and their daughter sustained serious injuries. Alerted by the commotion, nearby residents rushed to the scene and promptly transported the injured to the hospital.
The police have begun investigating the matter. Based on the CCTV footage and the viral video, action is being taken. Police officials say the accused will be arrested soon. This tragic incident has not only shaken the entire area but also highlighted how property disputes and ego can turn blood relations into bitter enemies. The village is now abuzz with the painful irony—how brothers who should protect each other have become each other’s worst enemies.
