Demand for Implementing Punjab Govt's 'Jiska Khet Uski Ret' Policy Raised in Haryana (X)

Punjab: In the Haryana Assembly's winter session on Thursday, the discussion wasn't about any new promises or theoretical debates, but about a policy of the Punjab Aam Aadmi Party government that has directly benefited farmers on the ground.

What is Jiska Khet Uski Ret' policy?

The 'Jiska Khet Uski Ret' policy has now spread from Punjab and is resonating in Haryana politics as well. In this context, Aam Aadmi Party's National Media In-charge, Anurag Dhanda, tweeted a video of the Haryana Assembly's winter session, writing that the excellent policies of the Punjab Aam Aadmi Party government were being discussed in the Haryana Assembly. He stated that several leaders demanded in the assembly that the "Whose Field, His Sand" policy, implemented by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's government to help farmers, should also be implemented in Haryana.

What Aam Aadmi Party's National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal said?

Retweeting this tweet, Aam Aadmi Party's National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal wrote that it is a matter of pride that the public welfare works of the Punjab Aam Aadmi Party government are being discussed in the Haryana Assembly today.

He said that Bhagwant Mann's government's "Whose Field, His Sand" policy gave Punjab farmers their rights and curbed the sand mafia. Kejriwal clearly stated that good policies know no boundaries, and now other states are also talking about adopting the Punjab model.

What CM Bhagwant Mann said?

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann also retweeted Arvind Kejriwal's tweet, making it clear that the Punjab government is completely confident in its pro-farmer decisions and is presenting them as a model for the country.

In Punjab, after the floods, the government considered the sand deposited in the fields as the property of the farmers and allowed them to remove and sell it. This enabled farmers to clear their fields, prepare for cultivation, and earn additional income. This policy led to a 30-35 percent reduction in sand prices and also curbed illegal mining. The government's provision of machinery demonstrates that the Aam Aadmi Party government doesn't just make announcements, but actually gets things done on the ground.

On the other hand, the situation in Haryana is different. In districts like Yamunanagar, Ambala, Karnal, Panipat, Sonipat, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Fatehabad, and Sirsa, heavy flooding has left large amounts of sand and silt deposited in the fields. Many fields remain unsuitable for cultivation even as of December 2025, and farmers are falling behind in their Rabi crop sowing. Despite this, the BJP government appears to be avoiding providing relief to farmers, citing rules and regulations.

What the Aam Aadmi Party said?

The Aam Aadmi Party argues that if the Punjab government can find a solution, why can't the Haryana government? This issue is no longer just about politics, but about the rights and dignity of the farmers. The Punjab model has proven that with the will to act, farmers can be empowered even during natural disasters.

What issues were raised in Haryana Assembly?

The demand raised in the Haryana Assembly and the response from Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann have made it clear that the Punjab Aam Aadmi Party government's pro-farmer policies are now setting an example for other states. The only question is whether the Haryana BJP government will understand this public sentiment or continue to keep the farmers waiting.
