Tej Pratap Yadav Denies 'False' Fatherhood Rumours, Calls It a Conspiracy (X)

New Delhi: Janshakti Janata Dal (JJD) chief and and elder son of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav Tej Pratap Yadav on Sunday strongly rejected rumours circulating on social media that claims he is "blessed with a daughter" with a woman, named Anushka Yadav, linked to him in past controversy and called them false and defamatory.

What did Tej Pratap claim?

While addressing a late-evening press conference, the former Bihar minister denied the rumours circulating regarding a woman "falsely" linked to him has given birth too his child and accused his rivals of spreading misinformation.

"I am distraught at rumours on social media that a woman with whom I had been falsely linked several months ago, which resulted in my expulsion from the party, has given birth to my child," Yadav said.

"My name is being linked to a girl and to children. I have no connection with any of them," he said.

Tej Pratap also warned of legal action against the 'Jaichands' who are responsible for spreading rumours and defaming him.

"I am being defamed. A conspiracy has been hatched against me. Misleading news is being circulated on social media - some say I have a son, others say a daughter. There is no truth to any of this," he said.

"False rumours are being spread about me. I will take this matter to court. I will not spare these traitors," he said.

What is the background of the news?

Tej Pratap Yadav was expelled from the Rashtriya Janata Dal, headed by his father Lalu Prasad, after a post that had appeared last year on his Facebook account.

The former Bihar minister also claimed that a viral post had gone viral last year from his Facebook page, that stated that he had been "in a relationship, for 12 years" with a woman, was due to hacking of his Facebook account carried out by "the five Jaichands".

Naming them publicly, he said, "There has been some suspense about who the Jaichands I have been speaking about are. Here are the names -- Mukesh Raushan, Sanjay Yadav, Shakti Singh Yadav, Rameez and Sunil Singh."

Rejecting the claims outright, Yadav said, “I reject this completely, a controversy was created, Akash Bhati will be revealing the truth. They are trying to defame me. I will go to court.”

When did he came to know about the news?

Tej Pratap said that he became aware of the rumours after he was told that  Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi has “congratulated” him on the alleged birth of a child.

Manjhi had earlier congratulated Tej Pratap Yadav and Anushka on the arrival of a child, but later removed the X post shortly after.
