In the 10th Deepotsav to be held on Saturday, more than 30 lakh earthen lamps will be lit at 56 ghats along the banks of the Saryu River. The major attraction of the event will be a show of 2,100 indigenous drones, in which scenes related to the life of Lord Ram and Ramayana will be created in the sky. President Draupadi Murmu will be the chief guest of the function. Vice President CP Radhakrishnan and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will also attend the programme.

When and where will Deepotsav be organised in Ayodhya?

The main program of Deepotsav will be held on November 7 at Ram Ki Paidi and on the banks of Saryu river. This year is the 10th edition of the event. Religious rituals, cultural presentations and technology-based programmes are being organised under the Deepotsav. Preparations for decorating lamps on 56 ghats have been completed so that the banks of Saryu sparkle with lights in the evening.

How many lamps are you planning to light this time?

The organisers have set a target of lighting more than 30 lakh earthen lamps. About 35,000 students from colleges of Ayodhya are also involved in the arrangement of lamps. Last year, 26.17 lakh lamps were lit during Deepotsav. This time the preparation is to go beyond that number and make the event a new record.

What will be shown in the 2,100 drone show?

According to Ishwar, a member of the drone management team, 2,100 indigenous drones will fly in the sky in the show. The programme will first have a laser show followed by a drone presentation. 12 figures inspired by the life of Lord Rama have been designed; These also include a new figure of Ram. According to the organisers, this show is being organised with such a large number of drones for the first time in Ayodhya.

How are the preparations for Saryu Aarti?

Before the main event, the final rehearsal of the mass aarti was completed at Saryu Ghat. Ayodhya Mayor Girish Pati Tripathi said that the arrangements for lighting the lamps are ready and the decoration work is almost complete. 2,147 people will participate in Saryu Maha Aarti. The programme also includes Vedic chanting and aarti on the riverbank.

What cultural programmes will take place in the function?

The story of Ram's return to Ayodhya will be presented through dance, music and Hindi narration.
