Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is all set to unveil a bronze statue of late Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in his ancestral village Bateshwar on December 25. Located 65km from Agra amid Chambal ravines, it is a historical site with Shiva temples along the Yamuna riverbanks.On Vajpayees birth anniversary, Yogi will lay foundations and inaugurate various initiatives worth ₹104.51 crore. He will also address a public meeting and open the 3-day Atal Krishi Mela agriculture fair at the village.Yogi to inaugurate UPs first inter-district helicopter serviceThe slate of projects is intended to catalyze Bateshwars development. Then, he will also flag off the states first inter-district helicopter service from Bateshwar to Govardhan in Mathura.The CM will inaugurate UPs first chopper service between districts on December 25th. The helicopter from Bateshwar will land in Mathura, said Tourism Department official Avinash Mishra.Heliports are being readied near Agras Etmadpur and Mathura for the service. The private operator based in Uttarakhand will run it on a PPP model.Earlier, helicopter services were limited to travel within Mathura district for pilgrims visiting the Goverdhan hillock. The new inter-district connectivity is a first for UP.Bateshwar to become major tourist destinationOn Vajpayees 99th birth anniversary, CM Yogis visit will witness Bateshwars transformation into a major tourist destination. Improved connectivity, attractions like the late leaders statue and agriculture fair will boost footfalls.The heli-service linking the temple towns of Mathura-Vrindavan and Agra forts also unlocks new tourism circuits in UPs Braj region.Officials are hopeful the infrastructure upgrades will bring economic opportunities while honouring Vajpayees legacy in his ancestral village.
