State tourism minister Jaiveer Singh visited Bateshwar on Thursday to review preparations along with local BJP MLA Pakshalika Singh and former minister Raja Aridaman Singh.

According to the officials, several projects to be launched by the chief minister aim to boost Bateshwar's tourism potential. Located 65km from Agra amid Chambal ravines, it is a historical site with Shiva temples along the Yamuna riverbanks.

On Vajpayee's birth anniversary, Yogi will lay foundations and inaugurate various initiatives worth ₹104.51 crore. He will also address a public meeting and open the 3-day 'Atal Krishi Mela' agriculture fair at the village.

Yogi to inaugurate UP’s first inter-district helicopter service

The slate of projects is intended to catalyze Bateshwar's development. Then, he will also flag off the state's first inter-district helicopter service from Bateshwar to Govardhan in Mathura.

"The CM will inaugurate UP's first chopper service between districts on December 25th. The helicopter from Bateshwar will land in Mathura," said Tourism Department official Avinash Mishra.

Heliports are being readied near Agra's Etmadpur and Mathura for the service. The private operator based in Uttarakhand will run it on a PPP model.

Earlier, helicopter services were limited to travel within Mathura district for pilgrims visiting the Goverdhan hillock. The new inter-district connectivity is a first for UP.

Bateshwar to become major 'tourist destination'

On Vajpayee's 99th birth anniversary, CM Yogi’s visit will witness Bateshwar's transformation into a major tourist destination. Improved connectivity, attractions like the late leader's statue and agriculture fair will boost footfalls.

The heli-service linking the temple towns of Mathura-Vrindavan and Agra forts also unlocks new tourism circuits in UP's Braj region.

Officials are hopeful the infrastructure upgrades will bring economic opportunities while honouring Vajpayee's legacy in his ancestral village. The occasion reflects Yogi's emphasis on holistic and inclusive development.
