Mathura: With thousands of devotees expected to visit Radha Kund on Ahoi Ashtami, the district administration has intensified preparations to ensure the festival passes peacefully and without disruption. District Magistrate Chandra Prakash Singh and Senior Superintendent of Police Shlok Kumar chaired a review meeting with administrative and police officials at Wingston Hotel in the Govardhan police station area on Saturday.
The meeting focused on security arrangements, traffic management, parking facilities and essential services for pilgrims. Both senior officials instructed departments to complete all preparations on time and ensure that no negligence occurs during the religious gathering.
The DM and SSP said that Radha Kund and Govardhan are likely to witness a massive influx of devotees during the festival. Considering the expected crowd, officials were directed to strengthen security arrangements around the sacred water bodies.
The instructions included installing sturdy barricades around the kunds, deploying an adequate number of divers and ensuring the availability of water police. Special surveillance will also be maintained at vulnerable locations to prevent accidents and safeguard pilgrims.
To prevent congestion, authorities have been asked to implement an effective traffic diversion plan and ensure that vehicles are parked only at designated locations. Entry of heavy vehicles will remain restricted during the festival.
Police personnel have been assigned responsibilities to regulate traffic, manage crowds and ensure the smooth movement of devotees throughout the area.
The administration has also directed concerned departments to maintain cleanliness along the parikrama route, in the Radha Kund area and on major connecting roads. Adequate lighting and safe drinking water must be made available to visitors.
Several gazetted police officers, police force in-charges and administrative officials attended the review meeting. The DM and SSP stressed close coordination among all departments to complete arrangements well before the festival.
The administration aims to ensure that devotees can participate in religious rituals and seek blessings without facing inconvenience during the celebrations.
